Professional and Academic Profile


Dr. David L. Berman received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of the Sciences prior to receiving his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the now Temple College of Podiatric Medicine. After graduation he became an instructor in the Department of Orthopedics at the Podiatry College and was promoted to Assistant Professor and then to Associate Professor. During his tenure at the Podiatry College he founded and became the initial Director of the Sports Medicine Program and Clinic.

He was then asked to join the Sports Medicine Center at the Orthopedic Department of the Medical School of Temple University in 1979 where he still practices.  At that time he became the podiatrist for the Philadelphia 76ers which included the Championship season of 1982-1983.  He became the podiatrist to the Athletic Department of St. Joseph’s University and for the Athletic Department at Philadelphia University (formally Textile), where he is still associated.  He was the Podiatrist for the Philadelphia Soul in the Arena Football League in their initial seasons.
